QTS successfully implements Morath Drilling Technology in a railway project in England
For urgent and time-critical work on a railway track in England, Morath equipment was used for the first time by the executing company QTS. Hang stabilization measures had to be carried out on the railway track for freight and passenger traffic between Newport and Gloucester due to recent landslides on this route. From July 31st to August 18th 2023, 1,000 tons of loose rock were removed during 34,000 working hours on the 24/7 construction site, followed by securing the slopes with 5,000 rock bolts and nets. During this time, the railway track was completely closed and intensive work was done on slope stabilization.
QTS used Morath equipment for the first time on this construction site: Two drilling rigs BT235 and a hydraulic power pack HA1610. One drilling rig was attached to the new "Mega Reach" from QTS. The "Mega Reach" has a reach of 20 meters with the BT235 attached. The high drilling performance of the reliable BT235 with low weight makes the "Mega Reach" to a powerful drilling device. The necessary hydraulic power for the BT235 is provided by the hydraulic power pack HA1610, which is towed behind the "Mega Reach." QTS is convinced of the Morath products, and we look forward to future cooperation.
